Awards
Competitive photography is something I really enjoy. To date, I have entered several contests, some of them nation-wide. In 2013, I took this image and entered it into the Photographic Society of America (PSA) Youth Photography Showcase. This is a very prestigious competition, with nearly 800 entries nation-wide. My photo won Best In Show for the digital category. That is the kind of quality I try to provide in all of our images, regardless of the subject matter.
Other Contests:
In the Photographer's Forum 34th Annual High School and College competition, I entered four images. About sixteen thousand other photos were entered. My photo Broken Glass (seen above), made it into the final two hundred winning photos. It was then published in a 375 page book.
PhotoSTREAM Contest
In August of 2014, I placed first in my age group at a local library contest. This competition had the theme of STREAM (science, technology, reading, engineering, arts, or math) in the world around us. I created a fantasy image through photo manipulation featuring a girl and a book.
Flickr's Explore
Flickr is a photo sharing website that has over 50 million members. Millions of photos are uploaded to this site every day, and of these, 500 are chosen for flickr's 'Explore.' These photos are featured on the front page of flickr and are seen by thousands of people. My photo, Yin Yang, was chosen as number 138 and was viewed by 17,000 individuals in a single 24 hour time span.
